Les Petits Oiseaux
Les Petits Oiseaux
Directed: Fred Louf
Directed by Fred Louf, this unique short film examines innocence and sexuality converging in a harmless escapade by a 10-year-old boy and his precocious girl cousin in his room, and the comical aftermath. At the beginning of this droll look at childhood’s pastimes and growing pains, we find ourselves in the middle of a big family party with all its dynamics. On the fringe of the festivities are cousins Alex and Julie. He is curious. She is bored. And they are left to their own silly devices. Very well acted - too bad we haven't heard of these talents anymore..
Movie ReviewsDirector Fred Louf, about casting the two kids:
"Sven had already made a short film entitled "the Origin", carried out by David Lambert. I met Chloé Philippe, the young woman who had coached him on this shooting, and she introduced him to me. That was obvious immediately. I sought a kid "not like the others" and I had succeeded. Sven is of an intelligence nutcase, he has a personality extremely rich and complex and he takes the light fantastically! That was to be expected: his father is an operator chief!
For Stephanie, I had to make the exit to the schools! Because all the agencies have about the same children in the catalogue and the majority of these talents especially dream to make the tele one or advertizing. Stephanie at least, she was clear: she wanted to go to Cannes; and not for the meet-and-greets!
Before meeting her, I had enormously refusal on behalf of her parents startled by the scenario. that made two months that I trailed in front of the colleges with my advertisement of Casting when she finally appeared to me! I weigh my words: it was an appearance! Between the day of our meeting and the day of the casting, I prayed the spirit of Truffaut much so that Stephanie could join and... Truffaut heard me. Ah! a gag: I met her on May 19, 2000 and the film will be projected in Cannes on May 19, 2001!"
