Summary
Ten year old Matilda lives an idyllic life on a sheep farm in the Australian bush with her family. She is the mainstay of the local basketball team and the acknowledged pack leader of her class at school. The worst drought in Australia for many years forces her and her parents to settle in Sydney and the pain of adjusting to a lifestyle that she hates almost becomes too much for Matilda - but only almost, because there is always someone worse off than yourself.
